DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were thirteen games played today and four were close ones. Thomas defeated Rush-Henrietta by a score of 10-9. Marcus Whitman was a 11-10 winner over Bloomfield-Honeoye. Midlakes-Red Jacket defeated Gates Chili by a score of 7-5 and Mynderse defeated Jordan Elbridge (Section III) by a score of 5-3.

GREECE STORM-2 at SCHROEDER-12 - The Warriors led 7-1 at the half. Leading the scoring for Schroeder (7-7) were Anthony DeRosa (1g-6a), Nate Schilling (3g-3a), and Garrett Conger (3g). DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were five games played today and most were mismatches. Penn Yan led by two goals after three quarters but saw their lead lost when Carthage scored four goals including the game winner with 11 second left in regulation.

Carthage at Penn YanGANANDA-11 at GATES CHILI-4 - The Spartans scored one goal in each quarter, but the Blue Pathers led 8-2 at the half. Leading the scoring for Gananda (4-8) were Brayden Dohse (4g-1a), Jase Smith (2g-3a), Mason Groh (1g-1a) and Jacob Michaels (2g-1a) who reached his 50th career assist in the game. CARTHAGE-9 at PENN YAN-8 - Although Carthage scored the first two goals in the game, Penn Yan returned with two goals in less than ten seconds to tie the game. Each team scored another goal leading to s 3-3 tie after one quarter. The Mustangs scored early in the second quarter and then added a second goal to take a two-goal lead before the Comets added another. Carthage at Penn YanThe half ended with Penn Yan up 5-4. At the top of the third the Mustangs increased their lead  for a short time, until Carthage came back with one. Penn Yan ended the third with another goal and led 7-5. The teams traded goals in the first four minutes of the last quarter and then the Comets scored at 5:40 and then a tying goal at 3:06. Both teams had a try for the final goal, but with 11 seconds left in regulation, Carthage scored the game winner. Penn Yan defeated Aquinas 11-6 to win their 12th straight (and 27th overall) Sectional Championship.  The Mustangs had a slow start in the first quarter, but picked up the pace for the remainder of the game and led throughout.  After three quarters, the Mustangs led 7-2 before both teams added four goals each in the final quarter.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - The teams are now complete for Tuesday and Wednesday nights at St. John Fisher University, where the 2023 Section V champions will be determined. In the Class B semi-finals, Irondequoit came out with the first three goals, but Victor came back with the win. In the second game at Pittsford Sutherland, in a close game that was not determined until the fourth quarter, Spencerport defeated Schroeder 6-4, sending the Rangers to their first Sectional finals. In Class D, Penn Yan scored four goals in the first quarter and led at the half 7-3 on their way to a 13-3 win over Marcus Whitman. Topping the list is Canandaigua's 4-3 win at Brighton where neither team scored in the second half. Pittsford took an early lead and then never gave it up in the 8-6 win over visiting Irondequoit and Spencerport held Fairport scoreless in two quarters in their 7-3 win at home.
